A beszélgetés egy szinkronstúdió folyosóján indul, ahol éppen egy munka után találkozunk. Nemsokkal előbb néztem meg a Férjek gyöngye egyik epizódját, amelyben ő a főhős, Doug magyarhangja, így rögtön megemlítem neki ezt a tényt.
– Van egy jó hírem a sorozattal kapcsolatban – vág a közepébe a művész. Hosszú évek után újra elkezdjük szinkronizálni a Magyarországon még nem vetített alkotásokat. Nagyon jó kis munka volt, hiszen rengeteg vidám jelenetet rögzítettünk.
– Akkori munkapartnered, Juhász Judit, ma már Ausztráliában él.
– Igen, ő ott tölti a boldog családanyák mindennapjait. Emlékszem, hogy sokszor nevettünk együtt. Nagyszerű partner volt nemcsak szakmailag, de emberileg is. Vidám hangulatban szinkronizáltunk. Ma még titok, hogy ki fogja ezután a „feleségemet” megszólaltatni.
Amíg beszélgetünk, folyamatosan egy kép lebeg a szemem előtt. Egy New york-i fickóé, aki tíz évig heti rendszerességgel volt vendég több millió ember lakásában.
– Forgács Péter mondta, hogy ő valószínűleg David Hasselhoff-fal fog a „sírba menni”, hiszen az amerikai teljesen hozzánőtt. Ugyanez a helyzet veled és Matt LeBlanc-kal, aki Joey-t alakította a Jóbarátok szériában.
– Így van, bár én egyáltalán nem bánom, hiszen a sorozatok történetében egy páratlanul sikeres munka részese lehettem, ha csak hazánkban is. Nemcsak a sztori és a karakterek voltak jók, de a magyar változatot készítő kollégákkal is öröm volt mindig együtt dolgozni.
– Joey-nak van egy mondata, amivel pillanatok alatt minden nőt le tud venni a lábáról. Hogy alakult ki a „Na, mi a helyzet?” című klasszikus végleges hangzása?
– Hamar „megvolt a figura”, és amikor a lányok lereagálták már tudtuk, hogy ez így jó lesz.
– Amikor elkezdtétek a szinkront még nem lehetett tudni, hogy ekkora siker lesz ez az egész világon.
– A Liget Stúdióban Mohácsi Emil szinkronrendező osztotta ki a hangokat. A rendező kikötése volt, 
hogy amikor dolgozunk, akkor mindannyian együtt legyünk a műteremben, és ne a ma is sokat használt B-sávos technikát használjuk. Ennek ugyan az az előnye, hogy egymástól függetlenül is tudnak szöveget felvenni, de soha nem olyan jó a végeredmény, mintha élőben tudunk egymás mondataira reagálni.
Így ugyan sokszor kellett várnunk a jelenésünkre, de szerintem az eredmény magáért beszél. Amikor sokat dolgozom, és nagyon fáradt vagyok időnként elő szoktam venni egy-egy Jóbarátok DVD-t és hosszú órákig tudok nevetni a poénokon.
– Ilyenkor az is eszedbe jut, hogyan készült annak a jelenetnek a szinkronja?
– Nem, mert képes vagyok percek alatt nézővé válni, és felszabadultan élvezni a szemem elé kerülő történetet. Nem nézek túl sűrűn tévét, hiszen egész nap valamelyik stúdióban vagyok.
– A pályád elején a szinkron mellett színházban is játszottál, sőt filmekben is kaptál szerepeket.
– Igen, én is átéltem a klasszikus pályakezdő színész helyzetét. Két esztendőn keresztül játszottam vidéki alkotóműhelyekben is. Sokat voltam a világot jelentő deszkákon. Sok jó szerepet kaptam, de így alakult az életem és ez így van jól.
– A szinkronnal hogyan kerültél kapcsolatba?
– Egy kollégám vitt fel először a Pannónia Szinkronstúdióba, amely akkor az egyetlen volt az országban. Kaptam egy egy-kétszavas apróságot, ami teljes katasztrófa volt, mivel többszöri próbálkozásra sem sikerült a helyén elmondani, amit kellett volna. Ezután évekig nem hívtak szinkronizálni a Pannónia Szinkronstúdióba.
Aztán egy napon megcsörrent a telefonom, és egy akkor nagyon ismert szakember hívott dolgozni. Kimentem, felmondtam a megadott szöveget, és azóta szinte ki sem léptem a szinkronstúdiók köréből. Közben a színházi munka is kezdett elfogyni. Sokáig dolgoztam az egykori Arany János színházban, majd az abból létrejött Újszínháznál. Ám amióta eljöttem onnan, nem nagyon álltam színpadon.
– Nem is hiányzik az igazi színészi alakítás?
– Azt hiszem, ha egy igazán komoly felkérést kapnék, elgondolkodnék a lehetőségen. Azonban túl vagyok a negyvenötödik születésnapomon, és ma már az egzisztencia biztosítása legalább olyan fontos a számomra. Életem párja, Riha Zsófia, aki egykor szintén szinkronizált, ma már messze van a szakmától. Mind a kettőnknek fontos a szakmája, de az is, hogy kis családunk boldog lehessen.
– Talán ezért volt érezhető a hangodon az öröm, amikor a River Cottage című történet alámondását készítetted.
– Nagyon élveztem azt a munkát. Én is szívesen állok a munkaasztal mögé, ha időm engedi. Nemrég egy új ágyra volt szükségünk. Nekiláttam, és elkészítettem a keretet, amelybe aztán csak egy kényelmes matracot kellett vennünk. A River Cottage-dzsal kapcsolatos szinkron azért volt nagyszerű, mert élveztem szinte minden percet az ott történt dolgokból. Átéreztem a nagyvárosból vidékre költözött szakács gyötrelmeit, és élvezettel figyeltem az általa elkészített finomságokat. A feleségem egyszer fel is vetette, hogy készítsünk mi is el egy ebédet az ott látott menü alapján.
– A sorozat folytatásában azonban egy másik kollégád kapta meg ezt a munkát.
– Később kiderült, hogy gyártásvezetői tévedés volt, amit azóta korrigáltak, és így a legújabb részeket már ismét én mondtam alá.
– Viszont új hangként „debütáltál” a Dr. House-ban a Foremant alakító Omar Epps partnereként.
– Igen, előtte nem nagyon láttam ezt a fiatal amerikai színészt. Érdekes ebben a munkában részt 
venni, bár úgy tudom, hogy mostantól kevesebbet fog szerepelni. Jó partnerekkel kerültem egy stúdióba, mert mind Zsigmond Tamara (Cameron), mind Fekete Zoltán (Chase) nagyszerű, tapasztalt színész, akivel könnyű együttdolgozni. Ám ugyanezt mondhatom el Selmeczi Rolandról is, aki sajnos már nem lehet közöttünk.
– Ahogy Szakácsi Sándor sem, aki az első House-hang volt.
– Nagyon sajnáltuk mindegyikük elvesztését. Bár Szakácsi külön dolgozott, így nem kerültünk vele egyszerre a mikrofon mögé.
– Úgy tudom, hogy – a rengeteg elfoglaltsága miatt – Kulka János is egyedül dolgozik, ő is B-sávra mondja fel a szövegeit.
– Igen, bár nekem volt szerencsém összekerülni vele, amikor egy alkalommal azt kérte, hogy hadd dolgozhasson párban valakivel. Éppen az én jeleneteim jöttek, így a gyártásvezető gyorsan összeengedett minket. Nagyon profi, maximalista kollégát ismertem meg benne, aki minden egyes tekercs elkészítésekor igyekezett a lehető legtöbbet kihozni magából.
– Ám egyes pletykák szerint Kulkának nyűg a sorozat szinkronizálása.
– Erről én nem hallottam semmit. Viszont amikor befejeződött a legutóbbi széria szinkronizálása, és tartottunk egy búcsúpartit, eljött ő is, és szívesen beszélt House-ról, és nekünk azt mondta, hogy örül, hogy ezt a figurát kell szinkronizálnia. Így gondolom a továbbiakban is ő marad Ház doktor magyarhangja.
– Úgy gondolod, hogy egy magyarhang összenőhet a külföldi párjával?
– Több ilyen példát is ismerünk, a leghíresebb talán a Láng József-Roger Moore páros. Nekem sem esik jól, ha a Joey-t megformáló színész más hangján szólal meg. Azonban hivatalosan tenni nem tudok ez ellen semmit, mert a döntés kizárólag a szinkronrendező kezében van. Ritkább esetben – promóciós céllal – a forgalmazó is választhat hangot, de ott a magyar színész reklámértéke is meghatározó.
Sokszor előfordul egy sorozatnál, hogy menetközben új stúdióba kerül, és ilyenkor nem mindig figyelnek arra, hogy ki volt az előző magyar változat. Ezúton is kérem a nézőket, hogyha olyan változással találkoznak a szinkronban, amely a számukra kellemetlen, akkor azt próbálják jelezni az adott tévétársaság felé. Valószínűleg a nézői „hatalom” lehet az egyetlen komoly akadályozó tényező a rossz irányban történő hangváltásokkal szemben.
– A 2007-es esztendő egyik komoly témája volt a szakszervezet által szervezett sztrájk, amely a színészeknek fizetendő díjak emelését szerette volna elérni.
– Úgy gondolom, hogy ez a téma sokkal összetettebb, mint hogy ilyen formában próbáljon meg a szakma egy része nyomást gyakorolni a másik felére. Elsődlegesen a jogi környezet rendezése lenne a fontos, hiszen ma a szinkronizálás nem számít művészeti tevékenységnek, amely furcsa állapotnak számít. A zeneszerzőkkel ellentétben, akik minden alkalommal kapnak pénzt a számaik bemutatása után, mi nem kapunk semmilyen összegű átutalást, ha egy szinkronizált film ismétlésre kerül. Pedig egy színész által elkészült szinkron ugyanolyan művészeti alkotás lehet, mint egy festmény vagy egy zeneszám. Ez a probléma hosszú évtizedek óta fennáll, és a rendezése minél előbb fontos lenne. Persze bízom abban, hogy előbb-utóbb itt is feltűnik valamilyen megoldási javaslat.
