Tehát hiába értem, hogy mit mond egy szereplő, a szöveg ételmét ugyanannyi szótagban, lehetőleg hasonló magánhangzók beiktatásával kell megalkotnom. Így, akár 2-3 napig is eltarthat egy epizód lefordítása. A sok gyakorlásnak köszönhetően ma már egy nap alatt is sikerül egy részt elkészítenem.
– Lehetőséged van a saját ötleteidet becsempészni a szövegbe?
– Amennyiben a történeten nem változtat, igen. Például Bobo névadása is saját gondolat volt. Az eredetiben Baby of Mcleod azaz BOM volt a neve. Mivel éreztem, hogy ez magyarul nem sokat jelent, így elkezdtem gondolkodni egy megoldáson. Eszembe jutott, hogy a lányomat, amikor kicsi volt, rendszeresen Bobónak becéztem, így adtam ezt a nevet Charlotte-nak is.
A másik ilyen ötlet az alpakákhoz kötődik. Az eredetiben három alpaka van, az első Isabella(ők izabellnek ejtik, csak a spanyol Isabella szót angolosították: Is a bella, vagyis ez egy szépség? A második így Notabella, ahogy ejtik nátöbel (nem egy szépség, ő lett Lizabell a magyarban) A harmadikat Doorbell-nek nevezték (ajtócsengő, csengő), ő lett a magyarban Dilizabell Az első két esetben adott volt a magyarosítás, a harmadiknál viszont igyekeztem valami vicceset kitalálni, s így lett a neve Dilizabella.
– Számos fordítást készítesz. Milyen helyet foglalnak el ezek között a McLeod lányai?
– Sok munka mellett, például az X akták néhány része is az én nevemhez kötődik. A Drovers-iek mindig fontos pontjai voltak a munkámnak, éppen ezért igyekeztem elérni, hogy az összes rész fordítását én készíthessem el. Ez egy-két rész kivételével mindig sikerült. Nagyon tetszik a táj, a történet. Jól esik a sok mozgalmas, akciódús sztori után egy ilyen szépen folyó történetet nyomon követni.
– Vannak-e kedvenc szereplőid?
– Mindenki szimpatikus a számomra. Egy kicsit más angolul és más magyarul hallgatni a történetet. Sok esetben hasonló hangok szólalnak meg a főszereplők szövegei alatt, de például Stevie-Orosz Helga párosítás nekem jobban tetszik, mint az eredeti változat. Nőiesebbé vált így a figura, mint a színésznő eredeti hangjával.
